Leah has loved to sing since she was a very young child, At the tender age of three, her mother was surprised to notice that she knew the back up vocals to all the popular songs on the radio! Needless to say, music always filled her childhood home. She would sit in the living room for hours singing her heart out into a tape recorder while listening to vinyl recordings of The Beatles, Jackson 5, Diana Ross and The Carpenters. Leah's musical influences included these and other artists from all genres of music over four decades such as Elton John, Chaka Kahn, Madonna, Michael Jackson, George Michael, Pat Benatar, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Amy Grant, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Martina McBride and Shania Twain.
Leah is a classically trained professional vocalist with over 20 years of extensive real-world experience and is a sought-after live performer. Blessed with a beautifully pure singing voice, she has performed with several Pittsburgh area groups such as The In Transit Band, Finesse and Mercedez. She currently performs solo and group shows at lounges and venues in the Greater Pittsburgh area and is the featured lead vocalist for Modern Times, one of Pittsburgh's finest bands for corporate events, weddings, and special events for the past 15 years.
Leah also works as a commercial recording artist and has been heard both nationally and locally with credits such as VH-1 Divas Live, Nickelodeon GUTS, Kids' Choice Awards, Nick at Nite, Toys R Us, and Wheeling Island.
Leah truly loves her craft and will have your guests and patrons coming back for more of her passionate performances and powerhouse vocals.
When Leah is not singing, she is enjoying her other passion--teaching. She is a professional educator of elementary children and currently teaches English as a Second Language to students from grades K through 6. Leah's love of music truly shines as she incorporates her musical creativity and talents in her classroom instruction to enhance the education of her students.
